Assessment & Engagement Volunteers

Help people access the support they need

Assessment & Engagement Volunteers make sure that client assessments are based on a thorough understanding of the person’s presenting and underlying needs, as well as clear action planning and referrals, both in-house and external. You will play an essential role in ensuring that our clients’ needs are understood, documented, communicated and, where necessary, acted upon with appropriate interventions and referrals. You will be conducting initial and full assessments with new and returning clients, general advocacy and referrals.

You will need excellent communication and administrative skills, confidence and enthusiasm and be capable of working with clients with varying degrees of vulnerability and challenging behaviour. This is a great way to learn the skills needed for a career in career in health, social care or advocacy.

The role requires that client assessments are based on a thorough understanding of the person’s presenting and underlying needs, as well as clear action planning and referrals. As with our Gateway Volunteers, we ask you to commit to one session a week for six months. Sessions are 08.45-12.15, Monday to Friday.

For further information, get in touch with Gerry Donnelly, Gateway Team Leader, Gerry@999club.org, 0208 694 5797, ext 213 for more information.
