There are lots of ways that you and your colleagues can support our work – from running an event at work to getting hands-on experience of helping homeless people.
Charity of the year
By adopting the 999 Club as your charity of the year, you can see where your money goes and how it helps our community. Visit us to find out how you can help, through organising collections, raising money and volunteering.
Staff volunteering
Would your organisation like to get more involved with the work we do? Come and have a chat with us at the centre to find out how we work and what we offer, and see how the skills of your staff can benefit our service users. Even just a few hours of staff volunteering with us can make all the difference – from helping out at the winter night shelter to supporting someone to create a CV.
Payroll Giving
If you’d like a simple, tax effective way of supporting us, you could donate monthly direct from your salary. Contact your payroll department about signing up for payroll giving as an easy way to support homeless people in our community.
Offering work experience
We help our service users get the skills and qualifications they need to get back into work. We have found that work experience improves the chances of people finding work by giving them the chance to build their skills and get comfortable with the work environment. We are already a partner in Pret a Manger’s apprenticeship scheme for homeless people which has been very successful.

The Aviva’s 3 hour Zumba Challenge that lasted a month!
When the Aviva head office offered to hold a Zumba Challenge to support our Winter Night Shelter we were very excited. Thirty people took on the challenge to Zumba for 3 hours and each raise £100. A £10 entry fee paid for the event costs, the Zumba teacher threw in her time for free, an Olympic Medallist turned up to jolly them on, and to add extra spice each department competed to raise the most money. Everyone had lots of fun dressing up and dancing – and were rightly proud of their fantastic fundraising achievement. One evening of dancing raised £10,000 – enough to keep our Winter Night Shelter open for three weeks!
