When Michael and Nathan lost everything, we were here to help them get their lives life back on track.

This winter, in south-east London, over 2,000 people, including children and teenagers, will be sleeping rough on our bitterly cold streets, enduring a night of possible violence, abuse and hunger before waking to an uncertain future. You can help us change this.

We are asking for your support so we can continue to be here to help anyone who is either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, especially as life on the streets becomes even tougher in the harshness of winter.

People can become homeless for many reasons, whether through unemployment, relationship breakdown, poverty, escaping domestic violence or mental health issues, and often need multiple levels of support to help them overcome complex problems. Many might never have thought homelessness could happen to them, but when it does, the impact can be devastating.

The 999 Club has been operating in Deptford since 1992 and as we emerge from the pandemic, which has simply exacerbated the problems for those who are homeless, your generosity can help keep all our key services running and help people get their lives back on track.

With your help, we can be here for people like Michael and Nathan, whose stories we have featured in this appeal.

This winter, there are more and more people who are rough sleeping and would have nowhere to turn for support without the 999 Club. It is essential that we remain able to deliver our life-changing – and life-saving – work, throughout the winter months. You can help us achieve this and your generosity would make a real difference to those in need, like Michael and Nathan.

Thank you again for your support.

“The 999 Club made me feel like I was worth something. I was in a bad place last year. I lost my job, I lost everything.”

“There’s help out there, but it’s knowing where to go. The 999 Club saved my life.”
