The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, in West Greenwich, has given the 999 Club food to cook lunches and dinner for 100 people in the community.
They donated ingredients to the 999 Club as part of Hilton Hotel’s “100 meals” initiative to mark its centenary.

This will enable us to cater for two lunch sessions at its Gateway drop-in day centre, and for two days of evening meals for people staying at its emergency night shelter in the coming weeks.
Representatives from the hotel delivered the food to the 999 Club and met with staff at the Gateway Centre.

The donation coincides with the charity extending the opening hours of its day centre on a trial basis. In response to local need, from 3rd June, the Gateway centre will stay open on Mondays until 2 pm, with a hot lunch provided to people who use its services. It closes at 12 pm on other weekdays.
The charity and the hotel worked together to create meals which will be cooked for the sessions. Homemade lasagne, salad and muffins will be on the menu for the first lunch.
