Welcome to The Bridge
The Bridge is a mental health support service which operates in the evenings and weekends at 999 Club. The service is a safe space where those who feel unable to cope, emotionally or mentally can be supported by our dedicated staff team.
What we offer:
- A welcoming, accessible, and non-stigmatising environment
- A trauma-informed approach, providing compassionate, consistent support
- Staff who will work to actively listen to the person using the service
- Working with that person to identify and source further support via our community partners and local organisations
There is a communal space for people to engage with peer led and Volunteer sessions including art, creative writing, Yoga and Fashion including upcycling and mending clothes. Anyone accessing the service can expect to receive a warm welcome from The Bridge team.
Who the Bridge is for
Please note we work on a referral and appointment basis only. If you think you need mental health support please contact Crisis Line, 111 or Rapid Responders via GP surgeries. There will be no direct referrals or walk-ins accepted.
The Bridge is for all Lewisham borough residents aged 18 and above, who may be at a point where they feel they cannot cope and need urgent mental health support. Once referred, we can provide support with many areas including:
- Anxiety/panic attacks
- Suicidal thoughts
- Not feeling safe but do not want to end their lives
- Feeling at risk of self harm or have already self-harmed but do not require medical attention
- Intense depression
- Hearing voices but know that the voices are not real
- PTSD
During an initial appointment, we will listen to what you feel has brought you to the service, and what support you would like both now and moving forwards. We will also provide suggestions for improving sleep and grounding techniques for when you get home that night.
Once an appointment has been made, we will contact you to confirm. Our aim is to work with people over a short-term period providing 6 sessions delivered over 3-6 weeks depending on identified needs. During your journey you will create a Health and Wellness Plan and additional resources such as Wellness boxes and grounding techniques to support and promote your recovery We will help you connect with community services as an additional and longer term means of support to help you feel less isolated and more supported when you have completed your engagement with Bridge Team.
Those who use The Bridge will also be integral in helping to coproduce the development and delivery of a quality service through training, recruitment, feedback, pathways to volunteering and peer support services.
