PTS Research Volunteer
Location: Online and Working from home
Hours: Flexible
Person-led, Transitional, and Strength-based (PTS) Coaching provides people who are experiencing homelessness with time and space to set personal goals, reconnect with their passions and hobbies, and build friendships and support networks in their local community. A key part of this work is finding personalised, bespoke, and accessible opportunities and experiences to support people in their pursuit of long-term aspirations – from music production courses to exercise classes, mentorship schemes to walking groups.
As a PTS Research Volunteer, you will use your research skills and local knowledge to find exciting, inspiring, and empowering opportunities to help people sustain long-term transitions out of homelessness.
PTS Research Volunteers will help us to find these opportunities using a combination of online research, local knowledge, and personal networking. Responding to a weekly brief detailing the kinds of opportunities we’re looking for, you will help us to find activities, projects, and programmes that will make meaningful changes in people’s lives – all from the comfort of your own home.
You’ll need good computer skills, with confidence using email, search engines, and online databases to track down exciting opportunities for the people we work with. A keen interest in the arts, fitness, education, and/or community work would be a significant advantage. Existing knowledge of Lewisham and the surrounding boroughs is desirable, but not essential. Above all, you’ll need to be passionate about empowering people who are experiencing homelessness to make positive and sustainable changes in their lives.
Duties may include:
• Read weekly briefings about the kinds of opportunities we’re searching for
• Find opportunities using online research, local knowledge, and personal networking
• Share your findings with us via phone, email, and online forums
Online training on PTS coaching and digital research skills
Duration of post: We ask you to commit to participating in the project for a minimum of three months.
Support offered: Online training on PTS Coaching and digital research skills
